This a thousand times over. It is not childish to ask for help, especially with something like suicidal thoughts. It is a hard fight, but it will be even harder without help. Please talk to someone, if not your doctor.

Someone close to me has been struggling with similar feelings for the past few months, and based on that I'm asking you, PLEASE talk to someone. It's not "childish" or "weak" to realize when you need help; taking the step to reach out to someone and ask for that help takes courage. If your doctor doesn't know that something's wrong, he can't help you find ways to make it better, and what you're talking about is the sort of thing that no one should have to go through alone. If you had a friend who told you they felt like this, you'd tell them to get help, wouldn't you? The same applies to you. Talk to someone, please. Don't try to deal with this alone.

Part of dealing with things like an adult is recognising that some problems are too big for one person to deal with alone, and making the decision to go and get the help you need. Nobody should have to deal with suicidal thoughts alone, and asking for help with them doesn't make you less of a grown-up but more of one.
