just as it would be nice if Amy had an arc outside... being an incubator

Like becoming obsessed with the Doctor in her first episode to losing her absolute faith in him in "The God Complex" and living her own life, with a bit of saving the entire universe in the middle?

Oh no wait Moffat is very very bad therefore all of Amy's (and River's of course) achievements must be set at naught in the name of... strong female characters, apparently.

Amy's exit in God Complex would've been more powerful to me if it had been her choice, not the Doctor's -- and also if it had stuck, which it won't, because she's coming back in s7 to travel again and ultimately leave... again. You also get Karen Gillan saying that the Doctor leaving them restores Amy's faith in him, which I try to ignore because I think it defeats the whole point of the episode and I did find Amy's absolute blind and unfounded faith disturbing. Beyond that, they missed major opportunities to develop her emotionally by skimming over basically any and all responses to losing her baby.

I was exaggerating slightly, but overall no, I don't think s6 did nearly as much with Amy's character as it could've.
