"I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan"

AND LINDSAY LOHAN IS BI

I like those types of songs too.

[identity profile] fireholly.livejournal.com 2011-12-24 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
YES. Pitbull/Ne-Yo would have been my unintentional pop OTP of the year if not for the fact that I Need A Doctor was a real song.

if not for the fact that I Need A Doctor was a real song.

This xD

I honestly thought it was a strange homoerotic dream I'd had for about three days until I saw it on a music channel again.

(Anonymous) 2011-12-24 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I never thought about this but...

Yes.

[identity profile] havemy-heart.livejournal.com 2011-12-24 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I like those songs, too because anyone can sing along and not feel excluded.

(Anonymous) 2011-12-25 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
If only those songs you mentioned weren't such flaming piles of fail, I'd be right there with you; OP.

(Anonymous) 2011-12-25 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
lol I'm sorry but since you mentioned that "Tonight I'm loving you" song, all I can think about is how Todd in the Shadows said the song/video was basically just one long advertisement for mace.

I think he made fun of the other song you mentioned too. Damn OP, I wish you could have thought of some better examples

[identity profile] raykat.livejournal.com 2011-12-25 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Thiiis. Beyond the admittedly awesome gender-neutral thing, both songs have really unfortunate lyrics.

Dude, same. Makes me feel like a beautiful girl is singing it to me, tbh.

[identity profile] dinerstate.livejournal.com 2011-12-25 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Is that the one where he rhymes 'Kodak' with 'Kodak'?

[identity profile] estellasharina.livejournal.com 2011-12-27 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Yes, it is.

And I love it (the song, not the rhyming) and I'm not afraid to admit it. XD

[identity profile] gigabyteme.livejournal.com 2011-12-25 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
I've noticed that too! Particularly in Tonight (I'm Loving You)! It makes me irrationally happy

[identity profile] crimsontriforce.livejournal.com 2011-12-25 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
ESL speaker here with a silly OT question. OP mentions "baby" as non-gendered... how frequently is it used for referring to people other than girlfriends? (it's heavily gendered in my language and I'd assumed it was the same in English)

[identity profile] errantnarwhal.livejournal.com 2011-12-25 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
I know a lot of girls who call their boyfriends/husbands/whatever "baby". I'm not sure if it happens as much as girlfriends being called "baby" though

[identity profile] errantnarwhal.livejournal.com 2011-12-25 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
No problem

(Anonymous) 2011-12-25 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Justin Bieber's song "Mistletoe" does this too, iirc. I mean, the song itself is pretty bad...but still

[identity profile] knuddeluff.livejournal.com 2011-12-25 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
Totally love them!

[identity profile] verschreibsel.livejournal.com 2011-12-25 11:08 am (UTC)(link)
Never heard the song but I do the same.
Tonight (I'm fucking you) is a pretty good song for that reason.

[identity profile] raykat.livejournal.com 2011-12-25 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
This is part of the reason I'm totally into Miguel's "Sure Thing" right now. It's interesting gender-neutral outside of a reference to the other person's "pretty little hand", which doesn't necessarily indicate a female one.

[Verse 2: Pitbull]
Reach for the stars
And if you don't grab 'em,
At least you'll fall on top of the world
Think about it
Cuz if you slip,
I'm gon' fall on top yo girl (hahaa)
What I'm involved with
Is deeper than the masons
Baby, baby, and it ain't no secret
My family's from Cuba
But I'm an American Idol
Get money like Seacrest
