I thought Holden was an interesting character, but I couldn't stand the book because it had no plot - it was just him wandering around for a few days and I just didn't find that interesting. But my English teacher straight-up said that if you didn't like the book, it was because you didn't understand it. >_> Okay, maybe there were a few things I didn't catch, but there IS a such thing as different people having different interests and that has no bearing on their intelligence...
Anyway, OP, that's a tangent, but that's why I hate that book so much... my douchebag teacher's attitude about it. >.> Sorry if you've ever encountered my ranting and it hurt your feelings.
