I hope you saw porn before that. I hate to think your impressionable mind came to accept hentai as what sex is/should be, not that porn is better but at least it's not generally so full of rape and sadism.

Like obviously I'd seen porn as a thing prior to that, but as a masturbatory tool and regularly used? All hentai and fanfiction.

Idk, when I was twelve I got into hentai, and this was before I watched normal porn. For me it was all about experimenting with fantasies and getting off, it never even occurred to me to view hentai as "real" or the themes and behavior represented in hentai as acceptable IRL.
Then again, I already knew a lot about sex beforehand (IN THEORY, I wasn't sexually active or anything) thanks to a combination of friends, magazine articles and sex ed.
I don't know how much it has to do with me being a girl, but a lot of my guy friends turned out different. After years of watching hentai, some still have trouble understanding what's the difference between vaginal and clitoral stimulation, for example.
How much a person is willing to learn about real-life sex depends on the person, is all I'm saying.

Actually, hentai was the first porn I ever saw.

I was also 14 and ended up hanging out with a friend at a creepy 20 year old's apartment and we all watched hentai.

After that it became kind of a thing with my friends and me, and it ended up being a catalyst for my first sexual experience, which luckily for me was with two of my very good friends at the time, and I felt very safe and comfortable.

It's given me kind of a weird perspective on hentai. I realize, especially now, how totally wrong it is, but I still occasionally get off on it and enjoy it.
