Just interested in seeing what everyone's favorites are/which ones have most impressed people. :)

I used to see recommendations that people go trawl through delicious to see what stories are popular, but I gather that things have changed somewhat, so not as useful. I found that lurking in the 'does anyone recognise this fic' forums was a great way to find stuff to read.

I tried to not focus on any specific pairings and rec several different genres. As are result, the stories below are not all canon-compliant, or post-DH. Some are contemplative, some are dark. Some are crossovers but also parodies + crack. Few are replacements for canon, as most build on or add to HP canon.

I hope you give them all a chance. Enjoy!

Gen & gen-ish:
Silver and Green: a Quartet, PG-13, post-DH.
Summary: For four Slytherin seventh-years, the sarcastic potions master turns out to be not only the best teacher they ever had, but also the most important.
No Room for the Weak, PG, post-DH.
Summary: There's a Boy Who Lived and a boy who didn't, and even a mother can't always tell them apart.
The Boy Who Lived, PG-13, canon-compliant.
Summary: A story of four boys.
Leave Out All the Rest, PG-13, post-DH.
Summary: Nobody expected the year after Fred's death would be easy. But nobody expected George would have to lose so much, just to live through it.
Make a Wish, PG-13, parody.
Summary: Harry has learned the prophesy and he does not believe that a schoolboy can defeat Voldemort, so he decides that if he is going to die then he is first going to live.

Summary: Firefly/Harry Potter crossover Post Serenity. Two years have passed since the secret of the planet Miranda got broadcast across the whole 'verse in 2518. The crew of Serenity finally hires a new pilot, but he's a bit peculiar.
