9. I'm sad when people use fanart icons mostly because MOST PEOPLE NEVER REMEMBER THE SOURCE. :'( Taunting me with 100x100 goodness; fanart icons end up being like mini advertisements for me. I wish more iconists (if they use fanart) would remember the source so they could link me to the delicious fanart sites they found it off of. *u*d

Some of us compile lists of everywhere that we find pretty art for that very reason. X)

That's why I never believe the iconists who say "but we're just giving them good press!" Because they aren't. The sort who remember the artist are scattered among the ones who just don't give enough of a crap.

But boy, it's a pretty argument for them to claim even if they don't practice it, isn't it?
