Neopets! <3 Oh, my childhood.

...Damn inflation that drove me off *grumbles about faerie paintbrushes going from 100k to yourscrewed-k.*.

But the stories were always great. I remember winning the bronze trophy on the Alterac Murder Mystery. :D And hey, at least you can always look down on then those parents who named their kids Renesme! (Because children's names are totally a competition).

And seriously, those aren't the worst names. I have the twin gene from my dad who is a twin, so I dread popping out twin boys right off the bat (I have little energy, the terrible twos would be horrific since little boys have SO MUCH FREAKIN' ENERGY). To make up for it, if I have twin boys I shall name them Merlin and Arthur. (Depending on how much my family shames me, I might just make it their middle names.)

All little children have loads of energy: people just treat it differently for girls and boys, and thus train them to behave differently. The trick is to include time every day to drain some of the energy off: a long walk, or trip to a park, or, running around outside, or similar. You may need two big de-bounces a day, especially if they're excited. You treat it as an essential part of the day, like meals, and make sure you have wellies and suitable waterproof/warm clothes so you never need to stay in on account of rain. It can be incorporated into a trip to the shops. Puddlesuits are amazing: the child can play in the park, go down the slide, roll in the grass, when everything's sopping wet, and you just zip it off when you get home. It is worth spending less on other clothes so you can afford appropriate outdoor play clothes, if possible.

Children are full of energy so that they can do stuff all day: give them energetic stuff to do, or they'll never be able to sit still. And you're fooling yourself if you think little girls have less energy!

oh god yes. as the eldest of six siblings, I can attest to this since I've had to babysit my little sisters throughout my life.
