I mean, normally, that comic would've been funny to pretty much everyone. It wasn't the comic, it was the timing of it. Here are religious people celebrating the rebirth of their savior, and I'm making fun of him. There are times when that could be considered appropriate, but that was not it. (Hell, one of my favorite posts was Jesus Christ vs. Santa Claus. I got no hate over that one, since it was posted during the Christmas season.)

In the end, nothing bad happened. I messed up, the people who felt offended or bothered forgave my stupidity, and we all moved on. There was no "butthurt", as you put it. I'm overly critical of some types of religious people, but the ones that posted there were not that kind. They were polite, explained the situation, and we all were okay.

And you have valid points there. However, um, it's not me you should be discussing that with. :)

But you said it was some alcoholic dude who disrespected Jesus. Did the narration support the views of this guy? Or was he just that big of an asshole and the author of that comic wanted to reinforce his asshole status by making him curse the name of the beloved and most positive figure of Christian mythology? Because in that scenario the situation seems to be quite pro-Christian and puts Jesus in positive, and the guy in a negative light.

And you have valid points there. However, um, it's not me you should be discussing that with. :)

Ah, you just bought up that the enviroment there made it possible for you to feel comfortable, and I just said that for me it had quite the opposite effect.

Also, a -lot- of things bother me. Some of the stuff that used to be posted made me feel ill (and I wasn't the only one) and the rules were made to address some of these things.

The way the rules were worded made me uncomfortable, and that was part of the reason why I left. I live in a country where people -will find loopholes around rules and laws- just to screw you over. Police, government, medical laws... so yeah.
