Hey, anime con of my state! I went to AD in 2010, maybe I saw you there ^^

But glad to hear! Even though anime isn't my big thing anymore, I've always enjoyed myself at Anime Detour; this is the first year in a while that I can't go, and I'm kind of sad about it. But yeah, AD's lovely. I haven't been to a big con, but both cons I've been to in Minnesota (AD and CONvergence) have been just great experiences.

I too have endured con-going in an unsightly and terribly inaccurate cosplay. I've been going to AD since year two, and yes, it's amazing. It gets better every year and the people make it what it is.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it, anon! I've been attending Anime Detour every year since it first started up, and while it has its flaws I still enjoy going. Hope you keep attending in future years and having more wonderful experiences there :)

I love AD! I've gone four years and I've yet to even get to do the real stuff there. There's always so much to do, it's even just a ball to walk around and see all the neat stuff going on!

It's amazing to see how kind people are there. And when that Ayres guy (can't remember the first name... Greg?) had to have some medical work done, the amount of donations in such a short time was overwhelming! It's really great to see how our state's anime community is such a tight-knit group.

Horray! I'm so glad you had a good time! Detour is a surprisingly friendly con, I found that too. It seems to be a lot of "horray! costumes!" with little snobbery thrown in.
