I love them for the Coraline factor too. My mother gets creeped out by them because of that, though.

(Of course, I was so fascinated by Coraline that I sincerely considered dying my hair blue, so there you go.)

I think the Ellowyne's are the first step towards getting pulled into the BJD world. A year ago I would have thought "100 dollars for a doll? Who would pay that?" But now not only do I have a few, I'm starting to think, "you know, so much work goes into those BJDs and their clothing is so detailed..."

I buy the occasional figurine, but don't care much for dolls anymore.

However, the LaLaLoopsy dolls are so ridiculously adorable I almost want to start buying some. In this age where it seems like everyone's trying to make toys that are more hip and trendy and edgy, these thing's designs are just so freaking...fluffy.

I don't collect dolls, but I have a shitton of other toys - Transformers, stuffed Chipmunks, Smurf figurines...And I know exactly how you feel.

But I love my toys and sharing them with the children in my life. They get played with and I know they're loved, by me and others. I get warm and fuzzy thinking about it.

I don't have any MH dolls (yet!) but I still have my beanie babies and girls of many lands dolls I collected as a kid. And now I'm collecting Star Wars figurines and Transformers, which are so much fun to display together!

I've never seen any issue with adults collecting dolls, or any other form of merchandise. The fandom associated with those dolls though and the way certain adults with that fandom act, that's another story...

I hear you. I bought a Lagoona doll at the beginning of the school year, and I use her to motivate myself to get work done, and to keep my spirits up when the pressure gets too much.

Any vestiges of adult shame that came from playing with things too young for me went right out the window when I found out about these dolls. They're just too beautiful not to own.

I'm not a doll person, but I do collect enough figurines (both static and action) that I understaaaand. They're pretty and fun. It only becomes a problem when you run out of room/have to move and have to make cuts on your collection (sob). Power to you, OP.

I hate Monster High, but good for you for doing something harmless you enjoy, regardless of the social stigmas.

I have a growing collection of FiM ponies, Sailor Moon toys, and stuffed animals, myself.
