SA's a huge site with thousands of people and a broad division of interests, one thread in one forum out of many does not SA make. There's plenty of fandom there, not everyone's a judgmental, hypocritical goony goon spewing nasty shit. The way people generalize anyone that posts or reads those forums is really annoying and it's no better when they're doing it to other places.

Sorry, but the way they were making fun out of people's secrets was quite painful to look at. When someone posts that fandom makes them feel better/complete, they're like 'LUL SO PATHETICCCC!!!111!'

But i digress, i've seen decent discussion going on there, so credit where credits due, criticism where criticisms due right?

well...sort of? I mean, on the new year's submission post didn't it suggest to make secrets about ways that fandom makes you happy? so if a bunch of people are making secrets that gush about their fandoms, and those secrets are all in one post instead of just having a few of those kinds of secrets in a normal post, then of course it may seem circle-jerky to some people. usually we have a bunch of negative secrets to dilute that.

I totally get the idea of being happy for New years but the idea of being happy in a secret seems silly.
