I think it's totally worth it, because the crappiness is amusing crappiness. The plots are terrible and nonsensical, but were all just here for the insanely adorable cast, so WGAF. :)

I just need something that isn't pandering with a giant "NO HOMO" neon sign attached to poke me in the eye and hurt me while I watch.

I can actually deal with *anything* else. (I'm a child of '70's TV -- crappiness is my manna!) Give me plot holes, give me inconsistencies, give me little people yelling "DA PLANE!" on Fantasy Island. That's all good.

Pandering + AHAHJUSTKIDDING = it's just Galmance -- I'm so done with.

Ah, yeah. In that case it might actually piss you off. It's teeming with unconvincing heteronormativity.

I enjoy it as subtext because, really, it's so saturated in it that watching an episode is a bit like listening to a big gay lovestory being misinterpreted by a clueless relative who doesn't see what's right in front of them. But I completely understand not having the energy to make that bargain with another new show.

I get very tired of scraping by on subtext myself. But since I have literally never seen a canon lesbian relationship that I could ship on any show ever, I sometimes forget how much NO HOMO shit I've silently agreed to put up with in my fandoming. :(

Well, in truth, considering my favorite girlships are also teeming with unconvincing heterosexuality -- but then again, they are Nick shows, so ... *sigh*

I'm not sure if 'unconvincing' is a problem. I'm thinking of those very blatantly injected moments of "OMG, HAHAH, NO, THEY'RE NOT GAY, BUT THANX FOR THINKING SO" that just infuriate me so, I'm all Do Not Want.

Hint: I'm not as dumb as you want me to be, PTB.

Straight is fine. Gay is fine. Bi is fine. Poly is fine. Ace is fine! But don't talk down to me for general your own amusement, you know? I like 'ships of all flavors, but I don't like my chain being endlessly yanked for shits and giggles by creators I don't respect to be, well, respectful.

I'm going to give this a try, I think. There aren't enough fun girlships anymore anyway, no matter what they pull.
