Ha! Me too. Seeing it streamed on Netflix instead of my dying VHS made me so flippin' happy.

Not only do I find him attractive too, I also felt so bad for him. I know like the secret says that he's supposed to be "creepy" but I just felt so bad for him. Infound him to be so sad and earnest and alone.

This one from 1986. Set and costumes by Maurice Sendak, performed by the Pacific Northwest Ballet and filmed by Carroll Ballad.

It's a bit different than the Nutcracker most are used to. It follows the book more closely and is a bit darker.

For instance, the "Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairies" is not a group dance but one done between the main characters(as was intended).

I think it's beautiful. The staging and acting is wonderful and most of the dancers are superb.

You can find it on itunes and, if it's in your area, netflix has it to stream.

Hm, well, I have to see if I can find it on iTunes here, since I don't live in the US, which would probably make it impossible for me to access netflix (this is some kind of streaming/renting service, right?).

Otherwise I'll just search for a DVD :)

Just be aware it was made in 1986 and has-i think- two times where there is very apparent "blue screen" moment.
