(Anonymous) 2012-01-07 03:57 am (UTC)(link)The first three episodes were 'meh'. Not bad, just didn't really pull me into it. That all changed at the 4th episode, and it has gotten progressively better since then. The actors are expanding, the writers are figuring out how to write these characters, and so on. From the couple of reviews I have read, this seems to be the consensus.
So I would say YES, as it has been getting steadily better for the past couple of episodes and I see it only getting better as more plot is introduced, and things are set into motion.
I have heard a lot of people snark about it being a 'lesser supernatural rip-off', at which point I roll my eyes. Mostly because A) it seems these people don't know that 'investigating supernatural stuff' belongs to more than just Supernatural, and B) everything else is completely different. Heck, the main character is a genuinely nice and fairly normal guy who gets super-powers! Which is one of my favorite tropes, but anyway... C) It is more a rip-off of The Sisters Grimm. ;)
I think it is definitely worth watching. It is interesting, with characters who are not only likable but who you would actually want to hang out with, and it is just plain FUN. The characters develop slowly, but I like the non-rushed feel to it.
And I mean, a Big Bad Wolf who goes crazy for Christmas. What's not to love about that?
