Still MORE Geass hate? Ah well. For the record, I adore Suzaku. For the same reason I adore Lelouch...both anti-heroes, both flawed, both not necessarily people I'd want to be around in real life, but great characters. Suzaku's a great deconstruction of the "hero" archetype and I like that his "tragic flaws" as an anti-hero are stereotypical "hero" characteristics (believes in honor, that ends never justify means, believes in "good" and "evil," has a "saving people" complex).

I didn't dislike Rolo because he was anti-heroic, I just hated the sound of his voice and thought his plotline was boring. Whenever he was on screen, I was like "Come on! Get back to characters I'm actually interested in!" But that's just me.

I really like Suzaku but find him very frustrating. And while I do hate Rolo, I totally agree that his actions and decisions made complete sense for his character, both killing Shirley and intending to kill Nunnally. Really, Lelouch was pretty damn stupid for sending Rolo to retrieve Nunnally. What was he thinking?

I really like Suzaku but find him very frustrating.

Funny, that was exactly how I felt about Lelouch. He would go around screwing up peoples lives, and then acted like he was the victim when they got angry at him over it.

I feel that way about BOTH of them. They're both great characters, but so stubborn and infuriating. Then again, if they weren't that way the show wouldn't be interesting, I guess.

I prefer Rolo because, in my mind, he's just a kid in desperate need of help.
Suzaku is a guy in desperate need of a shrink and a kick up the arse. Also some philosophy texts, because I never got the feeling that he'd thought 'Ends justifies means' through properly.

Fffff, all the Geass secrets got me curious to watch the series, and I from what I've watched I liked Suzaku the best cuz he was a total sweetie. From what I'm seeing here that doesn't last huh? ;__;

Started yesterday for literally the same reason, and I'm up to Ep6.

Surprised people are suggesting he's an 'ends justify the means' guy because literally all his characterisation thus far has been the reverse.

Suzaku's a very complicated guy who goes through alotttt of character development. He's alot like a "real" person in that he can be a hypocrite, believe paradoxical things, and do things that don't really make sense (Lelouch is the same way). I can see why many people find him frustrating, but iho I thought he was very believable.

From what I've seen so far, that's the way I figured he was(and why I like him so much). I guess I should keep watching so I judge for myself because now I am really curious!

Suzaku was always my favourite, the whole way through. I find Rolo boring and annoying, because he kept taking screentime that I thought could be better used on other characters. Also, despite disliking Rolo, the way Lelouch used him made me both dislike Lelouch and think he was stupid.
