What does Nick Cage has to do with Homestuck?

One of the main characters loves Con Air, and the other characters make fun of what a bad actor Nicholas Cage is. Another character gets a crush on him and basically there's a bunch of references to him in Homestuck. A lot of fans pretty much associate Nicholas Cage as a funny Homestuck reference as a result.

Thanks for the explanation, because I totally wasn't getting it, either. Of course, what I know about Homestruck is how to spell the title.

I'd have figured with all the secrets here, everybody knew something by osmosis. :P

The really short version for somebody who doesn't care that much: It's a crazy popular webcomic about kids playing a reality bending game that probably updates more then any other comic currently in production (on average more pages in a week then days), with a long convoluted story, soundtracks, and of course, a fandom so large it manages to piss of all kinds of people because it's invaded everywhere. We've made meme's of Nick Cage, playing card suits, and buckets.

The long version is, well, long.
