this. Orson Scott Card may be a total asscanoe, but at least I know every word he wrote came out of his own diseased mind.

I also hold some residual fondness for Ender's Game, to the point of being embarrassingly excited about the movie, so I think while he's gone down the terrifyingly bigoted rabbithole now, some of his earlier stuff is genuinely worth reading... provided he doesn't profit from it

Ugh yes I am so excited for the movie. I saw Hugo and that little kid is fantastic, so I have high hopes. I am also seriously considering sitting in the bookstore and reading the new Ender book when it comes out in like a week, because I'm unwilling to give him any money. It probably won't even be that good but I just really want to read it.

YES I LOVE ASA BUTTERFIELD, THAT CASTING WAS AMAZING. Dooo it! I've totally been the one reading things in the bookstore because there are some guilty pleasure you just can't shake.

Hi, yes, I am writing to you almost ten years later. Uh, re-reading F!S does that I guess. :)

The only Ender's series book I've ever read has been the first one, and I knew so little about it the Mazer Rackham reveal was legit amazing. But I refuse to read the others knowing how batshit OSC has gotten.

The movie wasn't bad either, IMO!
