A tiny child in every bite.
And it's good for your heart too!

OH MY GOD THAT COMMERCIAL
I LOVED THAT COMMERCIAL OH MY GOD
While we're on the subject of eighties cereal commercials, one of my favorites was the Honeycomb treehouse where famous wrestlers and tough guys like Hulk Hogan or Mr. T would try to get the Honeycomb cereal from the kids but couldn't get into the treehouse

Also does anyone else remember where there were three Cinnamon Toast Crunch bakers and not just "Wendel"? I don't even remember any of them having specific names until Wendel got lost and then when they found him he was the only baker. Now they don't even have a mascot for that cereal. Wow, I remember way too much about cereal advertisements.

LOL I just realized this was from the movie and not a commercial
I guess I just got confused by the obvious product placement

I wonder what Rick Moranis is doing now

[identity profile] omorka.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
He retired from show business in 1997 because his wife had died a few years earlier from cancer of the liver, and he couldn't handle being a single parent and working away from his kids all the time. Since then, he's done a little voice acting and writing, but he hasn't really wanted to get back into acting as a regular thing.

He's the only cast regular who has flat-out said they wouldn't come back for a Ghostbusters III, which is why I happen to know any of this.

[identity profile] cyren-2132.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
I was pretty sure Bill Murray was refusing to even read all attempts at Ghostbusters scripts, too.

He also put out a country CD! Only heard one song off of it, but it was amusing.

[identity profile] gabzillaz.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
I checked my cereal for months after seeing the movie.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-13 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
OH GOD. Me too. Except I do enjoy cheerios now but when I was a kid, stuff like this freaked me out for a long time.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-13 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'm... sorry to hear that.

[identity profile] cloud-riven.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Some people have zombie plans.

That movie gave me, "what to do if I, or someone I love, is micro" plans as a kid. Cereal plans too.

[identity profile] pimpmytardis.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
I always like the one with the parents (was it "Honey we shrunk ourselves"?) better than the one with the kids.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-13 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
The roach encounter in that thing was Nightmare Fuel!

[identity profile] kryptoncat.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Random info time: Joel Hodgson (from MST3K) was a co-writer for Honey We Shrunk Ourselves. Always loved that one, too.

[identity profile] streetcake.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Oh my god, for years I had massive paranoia while walking on grass because of this movie. I could never eat cheerios the same way either.

And my oatmeal cream cookies were always too small afterwards.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-13 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds delicious.
Bummer for you, but more for me I guess.

[identity profile] atlanticmelody.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
I had issues eating mini wheats when I was younger because the strands looked like the food (worms) I fed my fish.

[identity profile] la-petite-singe.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
...WELL, SHIT, now it's ruined forever. D: Is it just the plain kind? Because Fruity Cheerios is like the most delicious stuff on the damn Earth.

[identity profile] nemo-de-la-meer.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't eat Cheerios because of that, too, anon. :(

[identity profile] albion-lass.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
that's so nuts...because i always thought the opposite! i wanted it to be a theme park ride, kind of in the vein of 'body wars' and the star wars one at mgm where you were in a compartment that moved all around and...idk lol

[identity profile] melayka.livejournal.com 2012-01-13 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. I always thought about it, then decided (as I did with animal crackers) that Cheerios were too yummy to care. I'd be all, "TOUGH LUCK KID, NOM NOM NOM, I'M A GIANT AND I'M EATING YOU."

Legos, lawn mowers, brooms, Oatmeal Cream Pies, ants, dog barf, MY GOD THE BEES... there were a lot of things to be unusually creeped out by after you saw this movie.

[identity profile] icarian-ink.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I consider that pair of movies as part of the long list of things people intend to be comical but end up being absolutely terrifying.
