I wanted them to hook up too. I never really liked Steph with Tim and think they would have made better best friends, especially after Steph's baby. (Or, for some reason, I think Steph and Kon would have had an interesting dynamic.) Cass/Tim would have been awesome.

I actually do love the ship (I love all DC ships, really) but only in fanfic. I wouldn't really want to see it in canon. They're just too much alike. They're reserved and suspicious and socially awkward at times, but that's all manageable, just a part of their personalities. But if they were an item, those aspects of their personality would just get worse, because they'd feed off of each other, both retreat into their own little shared world. That's why they both work so well with Steph (and Kon, for that matter) - they need somebody vibrant and talkative and fun-loving to keep them from withdrawing into their shells too much.

Also, it probably doesn't help that it was Tim's book where Evil Dragon Lady!Cass first appeared.

I think they'd be great in the comics if done right. I think the fact that they're alike makes them even more amazing. They get each other and that's what I love about relationships. I mean, example would be Green Arrow and Black Canary. They understand each other and totally make the same decisions.
