Okay, maybe because I didn't get in the fandom till it was done - but you do know that even if you write Ryden, people will still give a shit if it's enjoyable?

I'm pretty sure the most popular PATD fic in the last few years was Ryden, by arctic-grey. (I hated it, but most people FUCKING LOVED IT). So if you cant write about them without the connection of a band, lol. That's not our problem

Dude, there was a second album, it was just a totally different sound that pissed off a lot of fans who were more into the emo dancey thing, and they broke up after that. For what it's worth, two dudes kept the name and they've released a third album which is a lot more like the first one and it's great! :)

Ooooh. See, I actually only knew about the first one. *feels really out of touch* Honestly, I have only just now gotten back into the music scene after a couple of crazy years, so I'm not really surprised I missed all this.

Will definitely have to check out all the albums. I can dig it if a band goes in a new direction, as long as they do it well, so will spend some time trowling around. Although nowadays Florence + the Machines and Mumford and Sons is more my speed, but I still appreciate the emo-dance style. It was fun as shit. :D

There was a second album (the first one being A Fever You Can't Sweat Out and the second one being Pretty.Odd). And then they released Vices & Virtues, the third album, after the other guys split, I think.

Are you serious? Half the fandom are teenies and teenies still die over Ryden, quality doesn't matter. There are plenty of places for your fic. Try finding an audience who ships the rare pairings and then come back and talk to me.

I don't hatw either of them, but I can't adore Jon the way I used to, and I don't likeVices and Virtues. :(
