Holy assumptions, batman.
I've been a huge fan of Sherlock canon, before either the movies or the series came about. And guess what? I prefer the movies. And not because of shippiness or whatever. Sure, they might not be completely faithful but the films provide enough of the canon's 'groundedness' for me to appreciate it. Personally, I think some of the film's energy is more appropriate to some of Sherlock than the programme, but anyway.

Even though you don't seem aggressive, you seem to think people who like 'popcorn flicks' don't like reading and this comment smacks of condescension to me. Especially since you pine for just the literature. What difference does the adaptations make to the lit?
