I hate these sorts of secrets because they are so vague and tenuously attached to fandom. :/

Me too, anon. It's not like there aren't a hundred other stories with betrayals like the one in the fandom in this secret, so unless OP's friend actually shot them or something and then stole their sister away to their secret base to become militant terrorists, I don't really see much of a connection to fandom, or at least this specific fandom.

I'm not the OP and I've never posted anything like this, but I don't mind this sort of secret, either. Maybe that was a fandom they shared, or maybe that's just the best analogy the OP has to express just what the dissolution of their friendship felt like to them. I mean, it's not like you can generally go up to someone IRL and say "Heather and I are done. Now I know just how Professor X felt when he broke things off with Magneto."

well if you are the person they're referring to, you apparently did something pretty heinous...so I wouldn't count on getting that friendship back

Well, I think I really upset her for a lot of different things, and I see her identifying herself with Charles really well, which would make me Erik by default.
It would be more for the 'friends who got separated because of belief' aspect than anything else.

Anywho, I'm not really counting on getting our friendship back, but to know exactly why she doesn't want to be my friend back would be really appreciated. I know I did something wrong, but I want to know what.

Every time I see a secret about a broken friendship I worry it's about me, ugh. Even though this one probably isn't because the characters don't really suit our personalities (imo, anyway, though I suppose I am the cold, stubborn one) and iirc we had our falling-out before that movie came out so we didn't share the fandom, though I'm certain she'll have seen the movie, squee'd over it, and would know that I've seen it and squee'd over it. Well, if it is directed towards me...

I'm not mad, and I'd be willing to be friends again if you would grow the hell up. I know you think I've ~betrayed~ you but I think you made a mountain out of a molehill. My molehill: you're immature and it drives me crazy (x1000 when I was living with you). Basically, call me when you move out of your parents' basement and/or get a life outside of fandom.
