It's not just you! I've always found myself preferring all his cheesy/badass/silly roles over anything else he's done (for some reason, whenever he's doing a serious style role, I find it depressing).

I love him in National Treasure! ...And that's the one I can think of off the top of my head... |D

(I guess I mean, based on that one movie, I agree so far.)

same here; I don't really care about him one way or the other, but I enjoy the hell out of National Treasure.

"We're going to steal the Declaration of Independance~ ♥"

"...Whut..."

/not actually how the scene goes but whatever. :D

[identity profile] writerserenyty.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
lol XD

It's such a ridiculous premise that you have to enjoy it XD

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly! ♥

[identity profile] schizophrenic0.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I adore that movie! Granted, it's mostly the history geek in me, but Nick Cage is pretty awesome too.

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, all of this. ♥

[identity profile] dana-norram.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
This secret made me realize I'm in serious need of a Cage icon. D:

Now, I really love all of his movies. I think I couldn't choose between Lord of War and National Treasure even if my life depended on that, so. :)

[identity profile] da-angel729.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Me too. I love his 'bad' movies-I really enjoyed Ghost Rider.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the one I can't stand because I just want to shake Marvel and ask why they're wasting their time on Ghost Rider when they're are others they could be funneling that budget into.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
This is the reason Face/Off is one of my favorite movies. Cray Cray Nicolas Cage at his best.

[identity profile] omorka.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
His general over-the-top-ness is a lot more tolerable in movies with improbable explosions. Adaptation made me want to throw things, but I enjoyed him in Kick-Ass, for example - and his performance in Adaptation seemed to get slightly better (although not enough to make the movie actually enjoyable for me) when the reality level started slipping.

BEES!!

[identity profile] kanjo-girl.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
He's cute in all of them, I'll agree. But I will always love him in National Tresure and nothing will change my mind.

[identity profile] emobus.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Meeee toooo OP. I loved "knowing" and idgaf who knows it.

The fact that he does so many bizarre movies is why I'm a fan - those flicks are my bread-and-butter and he handles them with more style than the usual brand of blockheaded, stoic action star. And fuck it, as of now, National Treasure is going on my too-watch list.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry can't go there. For me, Moonstruck!Nicolas Cage > all other Nicolas Cages.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
I still love Gone in 60 Seconds. <3

I find this secret ironic after we had one a few posts back from someone who hated The Cage haha

[identity profile] firecracker-sj.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 10:40 am (UTC)(link)
I love his crazy movies as well. I though Drive Angry was hilarious and I can watch Con Air a million times.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
In which category would you put Wild At Heart? I really loved him in that.
