You know, Anon, I'm not the most outgoing person in the world. I can probably count the number of friends I have in this state, if not on one hand, then certainly without taking off my shoes. And only a couple of those friends like music, or have a lot time to spend Not Researching but also Not Sleeping.

But yesterday, I went to a Youtube Singalong Party, and I had fun. Maybe I only really knew two of the people there, and maybe I had to leave early because I had archery practice at 8:30 the next morning, but I still went, and the party still happened. Some of us could sing; quite a few couldn't (and even more of us couldn't rap to save our lives, but we still did it anyway because it's fun). What I'm saying is that you don't have to have friends who are super-serious musicians, and you don't even have to be very good at it. Out of the friends you have now, there's probably a few who would love to sit down with a laptop, some wine/soda/drink of choice, and the internet, and waste a couple of hours singing Disney songs and Lady Gaga. All you have to do is ask them.

My Japanese professor made us sing that song. So class sing-a-longs happened but they didn't sound very good...

Don't worry OP you don't have to be a good singer to have fun doing it.

Of course I know this movie! It's awesome! And I'd like to point out something: she isn't actually that good at singing. She's not having fun because she's got tons of talent; she's having fun because she's there, doing it.

I love this movie because it talks about something few other movies do: how hard it is to be on the edge of doing something really well... and not really know whether you have what it takes to make it there fully. But at least part of the answer is: you don't have to be dazzlingly good at something for it to still be worth doing.
