This is really weird timing because I was just reading through the series recently and thinking about this, and I have the exact opposite opinion. I haven't met Matoba yet, but normally I'd be all over something like Natsume/Natori (they go to a hot spring together and sleep in the same room? come on), but in this series I am not feeling it at all. I think I see Natsume as aromantic, is what it is. So in conclusion that is weird and cool.

Usually I would be all about Natsume/Tanuma, but this series places so much emphasis on ephemeral feelings and loss that it seems to resist shipping.

Hey whoever is taking offense at this - I think it's the "wants to see someone being molested" part that makes him feel dirty, not the shipping part.
