I think that'd be a good ending, actually. The thing is, you really don't need the slash goggles to see that pairing because there's tons of references to it in the show.

That's what I love about the show -- the subtext is SO blatant it's not even pretending to be subtext. It's actual text. Like, in any other fandom, you'd have to dig deep into some random crackfic to find a story involving two male friends arguing over who their other male friend would rather have sex with, but in this one? It's a legit subplot. *love*

That's one of my favourite things about the show, too! Like just a short while ago there was an episode that had (sub)text for Marshall/Lily, Marshall/Ted, Marshall/Ted/Barney, Ted/Barney, Barney/Robin and Lily/Robin. I love shows where pretty much every single ship you can think of is totally valid and bound to have some canonical evidence.
