I completely agree with you. I loved TDK when it first came out in theaters, and it is an amazing film, but when I watched it for the third and then fourth times, I realized how horribly bleak and painful it is. The web series "I'm a Marvel...and I'm a DC" pointed out that if every single superhero film were like that, it would be horribly depressing. Also, a lot of people (including some critics) probably don't realize that superheroes like Thor and Captain America can't have really gritty onscreen versions yet because film audiences are not yet familiar enough with them---the Nolanverse can only be as gritty as it is because it has the cheesy/campy Burton and Schumacher films (in the 1960s TV series) to be contrasted with. Maybe in 20 years, Thor and Cap can get that treatment, but if that happened now, they'd be written off as "Dark Knight rip-off", which would probably be worse than being labeled "cheesy." Thor's cheesiness is part of who he is as a character, and that's why he's so much fun.
