He was in the final song number about 1 second, but that's pretty much all we saw of him.

I think he had maybe one line? (Gary was holding him when they were going to the different offices asking them to air the telethon.) I found it weird that he barely had a role but the Disney Store was definitely selling a toy Rizzo last time I was there.

I thought this too, as I love Rizzo in the Christmas Carol and Treaure Island movies, but looking at some of the older movies, and the TV show, Rizzo isn't really that big of a character in them, so... I mean, I miss him, but I can understand why he wasn't there. :(

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie as it was, but I agree on the lack of Rizzo. We needed a touching reunion between Gonzo and our favorite rat! D:

He was in quite a few scenes, he just had very little dialogue. Honestly? I didn't mind this. He had a pretty big role in each of the past few Muppet movies, it was kind of a relief to have him step back a bit.

I think he made an appearance. Rizzo's fun, but really only when he's paired with Gonzo.

I was just really happy and amused to see Sam the Eagle working as a correspondent for a FOX News-like network.

I think that I read somewhere that he had a limited role because Steve Whitmire was too busy doing all the extensive stuff with Kermit.

I still enjoyed it, but I definitely missed Rizzo! Him and Gonzo are so much fun together, just the way their personalities bounce off each other (whiccch makes it sound like I ship them. But I don't. Really).

I loved the movie, but I thought the same thing. ;; But they brought back a lot of the more underrepresented Muppets...such as UNCLE MOTHERFUCKING DEADLY. damn he was cool.

He was there, just such a minor role. Blink and you'll miss it kind of thing, which annoyed me a little. (I'm also a little bitter about lack of Gonzo, I mean, he was there, just not... there. Though my sister did point out he had the entirety of the last movie, so maybe it was time to take a break :/ )

AGREED. I am also Team Pepe and missed him sorely. I was bummed that most of the "new" Muppets, the Muppets Tonight era characters, weren't involved pretty much at all. I wanted Johnny and Saul (his Monkey Butler)!

If I hadn't been stoned when I saw it (which didn't really make the movie any better IMO), I think I would've picked up on Rizzo's absence sooner. As it was, I didn't realize until the next day, but I was still disappointed about it. I absolutely adored the way Gonzo and Rizzo interacted in A Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island and I was really looking forward to more of their dynamic in the new movie.
