It depends, is the OP still together with the guy because she's using him? Or because she literally can't afford to leave him due to the economy and not having a job?

Now, I'm willing to give her the benefit of a doubt, and assume it's the second one, as the economy sucks, and the guy sounds like a huge douchebag. But using people is still a horrible thing.

I'm thinking that OP is in this gray area of their relationship where she's just realizing she doesn't like the guy she's dating, and also just realizing she's been depending on him for a while.

OP, you should probably leave this relationship, even if your financial situation is bad. As bad as being unemployed is, being dependent on a potentially abusive person sounds worse. I hope you have other friends who can help you out, both financially and emotionally, OP!

Yeah, this. I'm kind of horrified at all the people immediately jumping to the conclusion that she's just using him and she's a terrible person if she doesn't immediately pick up her stuff, break up with him, and go live on the street.

SO MUCH THIS. I was in a similar situation for a long time, and if I couldn't have moved back in with my mom, it would have gotten much much worse than it did. I'm so glad I got out, and I think you will be too once you do, OP.
