Notes:

FS is not your platform to advertise around to find artists to draw your doujinshi ideas for you. Seriously, "looking for an artist pls email me with samples of your work"? "Secrets" like that will not be posted and probably loled about in this section right here.

I don't mind the similar reviewing style (they kinda had that before they even started dating). But it's the constantly shoving in a cameo appearance by a reviewer's significant other that annoys me so much when reviewers start dating.

JesuOtaku and Nash are really subtle about their relationship. They don't constantly show up in each others vids. But Lupa/Phelous and Chick/Todd have been taking this to the extreme recently.

I am convinced Todd moved in with NChick.

I don't watch Nash and only just found out he was dating JO through the Wonder Woman pilot review.

I'm still locked on the "Hoooow?" Lupa's in like Arizona and Phelous is in Canada. Long distance relationships are never easy.

And of course it's never good to date your co-workers. Especially when you're in the public (Internet) eye. The site implosion could be fascinating. Just look at the Spiral of Spoony.

Never easy, but not impossible. ;) I've been a long distance relationship for a couple years and although the distance isn't ideal, I wouldn't give it up for something more convenient. When it works, it works.

I do agree that dating co-workers isn't good though. It's one thing if they were married before working together or even had been dating for awhile, but meeting at work and dating is a recipe for disaster. I'm witnessing something similar in my e-celeb group I follow. It gets more awkward when the girl who moved in with that guy used to date a couple other people in the group before... As a viewer it makes excellent viewing for all the drama, but I can't imagine that living it is that great. Especially since I've noticed after the break up only one of them keeps all their fans and the other fades away either forgotten or hated.

Long distance can be done. I've had friends do it. It works for some and not for others. I even had a friend who had a relationship that was mostly long distance (she and her boyfriend got together right as she was starting college in another state so the longest amount of time they saw each other was the three/four summer months she wasn't in school) and fell apart when they were able to spend more time together (after she graduated and she returned home, their relationship didn't do so well and eventually broke off).

I really agree about the 'Spiral of Spoony' as you called it. And his girlfriend wasn't even a fellow reviewer! But she was well known in the online community because of her relationship with him and so their break up was very public.

Linkara and Iron Liz are another example. They seem to have a mutual break up but the problem is that they spent a lot of time in each other's videos. Even if they're still on good terms, it just feels weird to watch old videos and seem them interacting together.

Every time someone praises JO and Nash not cameoing in each other's reviews, I want to point out that JO's reviews already suck...

but that's just my opinion.

[identity profile] luxshine.livejournal.com 2012-01-18 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
maybe, and it's a valid opinion. But Nash videos are hilarious, and JO very rarely appears there, and if she does, it's only because she happened to visit Nash that day and the show is live. I think they've only had one real crossover video

(Disclaimer, I don't follow JO at all, but I have seen all of Nash's wtfiwwy videos)

To each their own. While I don't adore her review style (it's definitely not my favorite), I do like the depth she goes with each anime review she does.

You just everything I wanted to say, so yeah. I don't mind cameos, but seriously, there's a line there somewhere.

I don't mind it because I tend to like cross over reviews in general anyway.
