I miss reading all the amazing fic (don't get me wrong, I still do, but there isnt really anything new), the manipulations, the fanart...everything.

Sparrington will always hold a huge place in my heart, and I'll never fucking let go.

I was really active in this fandom back when At World's End came out. Ohhh man. I liked the fandom corner I was in (I still miss the forum I went on, Hide The Rum). However. This fandom was one of THE craziest I've been in. The Willabeth/Sparrabeth ship war was possibly the worst I've ever seen, and I saw a looot of crazy coming from places. My forum was notably Willabeth friendly, and for a while there would be Sparrabeth people who would follow the things in teh forum ot make sure we weren't doing anything.

I wouldn't go back, personally. Not sure how the Norrington/Jack fandom was, but all the Norrington fans I knew were lovely. :)

Yeah, after At World End POTC lost it's charme, but the pic OP udes is from the first film. And after The Balck Pearl came out, POTC was one of the best fandoms till movie 2.

No shipping wars, every ship was possible, even shipping the ships! I loved Dauntless/Black Pearl. And there where a lot of OT3: Will/Elisabeth/Jack, James/Will/Jack, James/Elisabeth/Will or the Navy solution James/Groves/Gilette. And all of that and every possible ship with two people in one community. So, so much fun. I remember reading one Will/Elisabeth/Jack/James. And the Wig fics!!

Good times!
(But of course there ist only one true pairing in that movies and that's Jack/Black Pearl!^^)

I'm with you on this. I'm currently rereading the old fics and wondering why the hell did I stay away from the PoTC fandom during its bloom, it must have been awesome, and the pairing is one of the best I've ever shipped.

I just watched POTC for the first time recently, and now I'm sad to have missed out on the fandom too. It actually made me ship Will/Jack really hard, and sure, I can find old fic, but no current discussions.

I shipped Jack/Will and Will/Norrington (Will all the way <3) more than Jack/Norrington, but I miss them all just the same D: I was never active in fandom, but the fics are amazing, and even as fandom dwindled down the discussions were amazing too. And I learned a lot about ships and blacksmiths back then...such good times :P

I love the fandoms I'm in now, but PotC will always have that special spot in my heart. It was one of the first fandoms I was completely obsessed with. I still remember when stills from DMC were coming out and fandom collectively gasped when we realized Scruffington had arrived. (Not to mention the huge attitude flip in fics written. Going from portraying Norrington as EVIL!!! to him being ~Dashing and Sexy~) And if anyone else remembers calling themself a "rumrunner"? Le sigh. Good times!

I'm a huge Jack/anyone shipper, and I loved the amount of fics. However, I hated all the Elizabeth trashing, and this is coming from someone who dislikes her as a character (she was okay in the second movie). The amount of Elizabeth bashing was ridiculous...

Yeah, that seems to be the sad truth about movie fandoms. When canon stops coming the fandom thins out. That's why I'm glad my favorite fandoms are mostly TV shows.

I miss the PotC fandom so much. It was what got me back into fandom! Sparrington was my everything, and it was just such a fun, fun corner to be in. "What Superstition Saw" is still one of my favorites, idc, with all of it's darkdarkdark angsty AU glory.
