I don't know this series, but I wish the best of luck for you with your adoption. Be careful. I don't know what kind of adoption you're going to try, but if you're going with open adoption, be very wary. If a particular birth mother keeps losing the money you give her, or asks for large amounts of money for vague reasons, or keeps doing anything else suspicious, break off the connection no matter how far you've gone. Try not to get involved with anyone who seems unsure - for example, if the father seems to want the baby even though he's going along with the adoption plan for whatever reason, or if the natural mother seems to want to keep the baby but is being pressured into adoption by her family.

...Although now it occurs to me that maybe you've already adopted; the secret isn't too clear on that. If that's the case, congratulations!

(Sorry if this sounded patronizing to OP or disrespectful to natural mothers; I just get alarm bells in my head whenever someone says "I've decided to adopt" because a lot of people underestimate how difficult it is, when it comes to babies, anyway. Even people who've done their research. A lot of information sources are designed to make people want to adopt, and most of the testimonials come from only people who were eventually successful, and leave out the people who gets their hearts and banks broken and are still never able to have a son or daughter.)
