'Death by sunlight' wasn't even one that was popular until Nosferatu was released, if I recall correctly.

But I'm interested in the constants as well, just because I can't think of them myself, haha.

But Nosferatu's old enough that it is pretty much expected of all modern vampires. I remember being surprised by the Nyeusigrube crew (these are the YA books written by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes) because her vamps were like regular nocturnal beings. They preferred darkness, and the more powerful the vamp, the more uncomfortable they were in sunlight, but it was never a serious debility for them.

This is true. I wasn't sure how far back the OP of the two traits comment was going.

I must admit, I dislike Nosferatu for making that a trope! But I am a big folklore geek, so expect me to be irrational on that. (And I am a animal geek, and the whole 'wolf is a hyena wtf?' made me crack up and face palm SO HARD.)

But anyway, replied about the constraints below if interested. :)

Me too! I was never actually big into vampires, but there was a class in my college about vampires (the same teacher also did a class about horror movies and one about folklore in which vampires were covered again) that I took because I wanted to read Dracula. I totally agree with the frustration on the whole sunlight trope. I don't understand why it became big.
