I also wonder about Sherlock's "queen" comment regarding Mycroft. Yes, it was an off-the-cuff joke, but then so was Mycroft's comment about Sherlock being a virgin, and people take that seriously enough...

No, you're right. I swear there's a reference to a gay character every episode (which I love. And I love how it's not a big deal, it's like yeah, that's life. Except apparently not the main characters, no *eye roll*).

I wondered about that, too. I think the queen comment has as much relevance as - if not more than - the virgin comment. Because John also laughed. So that's two people who reference Mycroft as gay. I don't know, they really didn't delve into Mycroft too much.

Now I've always wondered about Moriarty. He played gay but then he wasn't but was he? I don't know. I've come to the conclusion that Moriarty is probably pansexual? I don't know, it's always kind of fascinated me, how Moriarty can pander to whoever. Playing gay, that bit of extremely high sexual tension between him and that woman who gave him the gum last episode. He seems so comfortable in it all.
