Admitting that something is stupid don't protect you from people calling you out on it.

And yes, being angry at someone for something they did in a dream is remarkably stupid -even for the Internet.

OP - I'm just not sure why you think it'd be news to me that it was stupid. I'm not angry any more (it only lingered around for a day or so), and it's not as if I acted on it in any way other than posting a secret anonymously to vent about the weird fandom-related shit my brain had come up with.

I mean, if I'd stayed angry with him for longer or if I'd sent him an angry email or something, then yes, that would be remarkably stupid, but having irrational emotions linger for a while after a dream... I don't see how that's any different from staying scared for a while after a nightmare?

Ha ha, I do that all the time. I wouldn't worry about it, OP. Emotions tend to go a little haywire with dreams sometimes. I'll wake up pissed at someone for doing something in a dream that in real life I probably wouldn't have cared about at all. Just give it a little time and it'll fade.

If it helps, everything I've heard says that Doug is one of the sweetest guys you'll ever meet in real life. Lots of people who play assholes are actually sweet.

He wouldn't do that, I promise. We had him as a guest for the convention I ran, and he's one of the nicest guys ever. One of my friends mistook Doug for a friend of his, and ran and glomped him--my friend was mortified once he realized what happened, but once Doug realized he hadn't been mobbed by a fanboy he thought it was funny.

I've met him. He really is nice and awesome and all that in person.

My friend really wanted to meet him, but couldn't make it out that day. I asked him if he could do a short video for her on my camera, and he agreed without hesitation. :)

But, OP didn't let emotions overrule good sense. Just because you feel something doesn't mean you act on it. Not acting on your anger and knowing your feelings do not correlate with reality, like OP, takes self control.
