Haven't gone around to playing custom levels (can't recall if the steam version lets you use them), but I'm with you on the music. More often than not, I don't hear much chiptune music that actually takes me back to when it was less about novelty, but making amazing things work with hardware limitations. Those melodies got stuck in my head for days.

I have the Steam version from the latest Humble Bundle, and it does have custom levels. And I guess you described my beef with some chiptune stuff I've come across - they usually emphasize the using "old skool" sounds part but not so much about utilizing them to make awesome & new stuff. Which is probably why I love the VVVVVV soundtrack so much.

This should be canon. I'd write fic about it.

Still hunting for someone to ship with Victoria though...

Heh, sometimes I also ship Victoria/trinkets. Or maybe with Vitellary, idek. B-but then I also kind of ship him with Viridian thanks to a certain custom level... so OT4 time? ~~somebody take away my shipping goggles~~
