I'm on board with that, but if JL and RDJ are in it, there isn't a soft-focus lens in existence that can take that many years off of them.

Blasphemy, but I wouldn't mind a new series that's a prequel with other, younger, similiar actors, after the third movie is made.

Aren't the Guy Ritchie movies set approx ten years after they met? So going by that logic...Holmes and Watson are probably in their late 30s/early 40s. I don't think they would have to age down the actors that much to make it work. They could easily pass for guys in their late 20s/early 30s. Give Jude a hairpiece, perhaps shave his mustache, shave RDJ's stubble, slop on the makeup, etc.

Hell yes. It would be pretty interesting to see this version of them when they hardly know each other, cause where the Ritchie 'verse takes off they're not only very established but Watson is so long-suffering in their relationship...It would be kind of hilarious to see the honeymoon period of their friendship.

That'd be totally fun (although I think people will be mad if we don't see the explanation for the end of the second one there), as long as we see them actually being close and happy together. Their banter is awesome, but as my dear mutantjules says, it's off-putting the way John's basically trying to get away from him for the entire second film and some of the first.
