I just finished watching Friends all the way through for the first time (before I had only seen reruns) and I could not believe how much I shipped them. They had really great chemistry and some wonderful moments together. Obviously I knew how it was all going to end, but I think that relationship would have been really great if they had given it a shot.

Back when it was airing, I thought "no no they can't separate Ross and Rachel", but looking back on it, Joey and Rachel would have worked pretty well together

I've never liked that one. Joey is dumb as a rock and Rachel was often an idiot. Too much stupidity. Not sexy.

There are a lot of times when after I catch a re-run I think up of all the ways they could have ended up together =) It's pretty fun. Too bad there's not much fanwork for this two

I do love their friendship ("You got yourself into those cuffs, you get yourself out." "I CAN'T get myself out! You must have me confused with the AMAZING Chandler!") but I think I like them better as bro & sis-like.

Me too. I really liked their little moments alone together (not that they had a lot), like the cheesecake thing. But the one that stands out in my mind is when Chandler talks to her about her parents' divorce out in the hallway - it was just so sweet.

I often wondered if they were playing with the idea? They had lots of little small scenes together at the beginning of the show, but with the mess of Ross/Rachel I guess not... They had great chemistry, though. It would have also been really interesting to see Ross dealing with his best friend getting together with the girl he loved for over ten years.
