i don't care for this pairing either but that's because i find both characters really dull, and also because most of the shippers are rabid prussia haters because of it, which makes zero sense to me.

Yeeeeaaaaah. I'm sure it has happened. Shippers are weird and, even with it being a relatively small ship and my OTP, I'm not about to claim I know everyone who ships it. I'm pretty sure every ship has at least one fan who acts like this, since it's unfortunately a very common mindset. But "most fans" is going too far IMO, unless they mean "most of the fans that I know" as opposed to "my impression of the overall fanbase", because...what. Most AusHun fans that I've encountered, including me, like Prussia a lot. And well. I've encountered a lot of them. Since it's. You know. My OTP. So I talk to fanartists and fanfic writers, have people reply to my fanworks, etc.

Because first anon said 'most of the fans?' That's pretty broad. My comment was not meant to imply that no fan of the ship has ever done it, because of course I can't say that and I'm sure someone or some people have. But I'm sorry, I just can't believe that a sizable chunk of them, let alone most, do.

I encourage you to just take it for granted they mean 'most fans I've seen do this', just as it should be taken for granted you meant 'most fans I've seen don't do this'.

To be honest, the whole Frying Pangle is fucked this way. I'm just glad that Hungary don't get as much hate from the Prussia/Austria section compared to Prussia from Austria/Hungary section and Austria from the Prussia/Hungary section.

Although in my experience the Austria hate from Prussia/Hungary section was the worse I've seen overall.

You tell me. I've lost count of how many Prussia/Hungary and Poland/Hungary fans love to accuse Austria of being a rapist/torturer/abuser/etc. to justify their ships, alongisde reducing Hungary to a poor battered victim and making Prussia or Poland her Super Knight In Shining Armor. That alone turned me off the ship FOREVER -- though in my case, it was MANY fans and not just one.
