oh my god this.

Honestly, what pisses me off about it the most is the distinction between survivors and non-survivors. I was raped. I have a rape kink. The two things are unrelated, and I had the rape kink before I was raped, so does that mean it became "okay" when I became a survivor? idgi

Right? And the assumption that survivors must be using rape fic as therapy or as a recovery mechanism--it couldn't possibly be because they actually enjoy rape kink!

Yeah. Fuck that shit; I'm putting my hand up and saying I enjoy rape kink because it gets me off, not because I'm sick and twisted, not because I want to rape people (funny how it seems to be assumed it's that side of things people imagine themselves on, and for the record, in my case it isn't), and definitely not because I need the therapy because I'm just that messed up.

I think...I often assumed it was the other side of things. Or maybe just the whole situation. I don't think I ever thought of people imagining themselves as the rapist...that's...that just wouldn't occur to me. Hmm.

I have never encountered anyone who assumes people are on the rapist side of the equation which actually makes objections to the kink weirder.
