"heterosexuality wins a round" implies that the gay person turns straight and the audience doesn't know to think otherwise. But you can't turn straight/bi/gay just because you want to, ergo, "heterosexuality wins" is false. Sure, you can live on the down low or be bisexual or whatever, but that hardly makes one straight.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-21 05:31 am (UTC)(link)Marrying someone of the opposite sex will not turn a homosexual person straight, but the idea of a homosexual person giving up the opportunity to be in a domestic partnership with someone they are sexually attracted to can be seen as a little sad. It can also be seen as giving into the pressure to "act straight" like their sexuality is something to be covered up and lied about.
Of course, Doumeki couple be bisexual. I don't recall anything that precluded that orientation.
