To be fair, the Simon and Alisha storyline is done. They have a closed temporal loop. How would they keep the characters on the show?

Yes, but are their characters in that loop because they wanted to leave? Maybe I'm the only one but I got the impression their storyline ended how it did because they knew they were leaving, not the other way around.

It might not have had to happen that way exactly at that time, but it was going to happen eventually.

I don't know whether Antonia and Iwan decided to leave and that's why Simon and Alisha were written out, or vice versa, but either way, I'm sure part of it is because their characters got written out of the show in a climatic episode. Nathan just vanished in an online short that was pretty terrible, presumably because of Robert Sheehan leaving.

twat you know nothing. rob's career floped anyway. people's reaction was different bc those people left on different terms. as an inside i can tell u he's a brilliant actor and a sweetheart but knows nothing about career managemnt and he made his sink so hard with hsi ambitions ok

People actually said that? Dickheads, seriously. Nathan was my favourite and I was upset he left, but like you said, it's hardly a fucking 'betrayal'.

Oh yeah, the wank was incredible when he left. I do remember seeing sentiments of betrayal and wishing ill on his future projects. I didn't really care because Antonia was my favourite but I didn't hate him either! It was bizarre.

Besides all of the other factors, also think about it like this: series 3 was just not very good. It wasn't even the lack of Nathan, it was just... not nearly as good as the first two series. So I think people were more inclined to see Antonia and Iwan leaving as them getting off of a sinking ship, whereas when Robert left, people saw it as him ditching a good thing because he thought he could do better. The utter lack of closure with Nathan's character didn't help, either.

ita. i actually stopped watching because there was no nathan in s3, and i was pretty disgusted by the shitty internet short. i think robert made a mistake in leaving, but he'd hardly be the first. it was disappointing to find out about it, though, because right before it was announced that he was leaving, he tweeted that he as staying.

I don't blame Robert Sheehan for leaving either, but I have to say that Iwan and Atonia leaving seems more like a career choice. I didn't mind S3 too much, but it's pretty clear that the show is beginning to flounder without a focus, IMO

I'll agree with you op, that it's a little bizarre. One of my friends flat out said it's because Iwan's cuter she gives him a free pass & something tells me she isn't the only one like that.

The only non biased explanation I can come up with is that I think people liked S1 and 2 better so the crush of people that were super into it when Robert left maybe aren't super into it now and don't care as much? But I agree with your point that they don't owe us anything. If Robert wanted to leave, there is nothing wrong with that, nor is there anything wrong with Iwan and Antonia going. I love Antonia so that's distressing but it's her life. I'm not going to get mad
