Yeah I'm always pretty appalled when an American gets so mad at non-Americans who don't fully know American history when they don't know nearly as much about the other person's country and history.

This x100. I often go to America to visit my family members there, and I still get mad when people say "You don't know who [insert president here] is?!" or "You don't know [insert historical event here]??"

Yet when I ask, "Do you know anything about Australia?" the standard response is "Yeah...you've got kangaroos and koala bears, right?"

Ugh.
