Nah, I tend to ignore it when people diverge from canon pairings. What bugs me (and maybe it's a me thing, IDK) is when people on kink memes ignore it completely, or bash a pairing, or say "well, x could never actually make y happy, so this is what really happens", which I have in fact seen. -_-;

Nah, most of the time in fandom, I just ignore it when it's not a canon pairing. It's not really rough, though, since I know it's probably just me, you know?

What really bugs me is when people try to shame others into filling a prompt with things like "it's so cute! Why has no one filled this yet!". It's like, I didn't fill it because I don't like the pairing, and even if I was willing to give it a shot, the way you're treating it... No.

I have a lot of feelings about it, lol. But usually fandom's okay because I ignore what I don't like, and look for/focus on what I do. :/

Dude, they're not talking to you when they're commenting "It's so cute! Blahblahblah." It's showing that they're interested in reading it....which makes sense.

Eh, I get frustrated when it shows up in my inbox anyway. (Mostly because I track whole memes, as I don't have a paid thing.) I mean, intellectually I know that they aren't trying to get *me* to fill it, but from an annoyance stand point, it's like... "Yay. You realize it wasn't filled originally because there was a reason for it right?"

I do not tell the OP that, though, and I do not write troll fills. It's still annoying. :|

You mean like, the people who liked the idea and wanted to see it filled have busy lives, or aren't confident in their writing skills, or are hoping someone else picks up the prompt so they can read someone else's take on it? I mean, that's why I assume unfilled prompts don't get filled -- not because they suck or are wrong.

Those are all valid reasons too, but saying things like "your heartless if you don't fill this" isn't conducive to me wanting to give writing it a shot, no matter the pairing or the prompt.

what a strange thing to get ticked off over. I mean if they said something like "Wow, this is a great idea! Every author who has passed this prompt by without filling it is a fucking dumbass who should be exiled from society" then I guess I could understand...

I'm horrible about fanfiction actually because of it, lol. I really just like watching/reading something to enjoy it for what it is and see where it goes, rather than manipulate it into something else. But no I don't complain about what anybody else ships, that's their choice. I just thought I was the only one out there who was like this. XD

I agree though. I mean, I love deep friendship-type relationships like that, but it doesn't always have to be centered around romance. It makes me kind of hesitant to break into some fandoms even.

Yep. Or when you're in a fandom, only to find that everyone ships two friends/bros as romantic people, and you can't get a fill filled on the anon meme unless you have that pairing not that I'm upset or anything. :|
