Seconding, but my SO, not a comics reader in general, had trouble with the very first volume of all-Jaime of the new reprints, which includes the more experimental early stuff and broader nods to comics strips/superheros and really drops you all in media res. I've been stumped trying to describe L&R as a whole, too, and in trying to figure out what is its most accessible starting point... iirc, when asked this, none of the bros. really could give an answer. Kinda think something from the original run, and Jaime rather than Gilbert or Mario; maybe The Lost Women?
