As an art tutor, I find your attitude in this thread pretty gross. Yes, you're within your right to state your opinions on other people's art, but you need to have some tact.

Considering what you have to offer in your own gallery, I'd be very careful throwing stones in glass houses. You have a lot of room for improvement as an artist- try focusing on bettering yourself instead of bringing others down.

I usually do, I just have a habit of being brutally honest at times.

So did you look up my da through my lj profile or Google with my lj name? I know I have room for improvement, I never say no to crit, and considering the last time I uploaded something to my gallery was several months ago... lol Just because I'm not the best evar doesn't mean I can't see things that are wrong with other peoples' art.

I hope by "being brutally honest" you mean serious critique and not "this fucking sucks" then. The latter really doesn't hold water.

Through your LJ.

...the last time I uploaded something to my gallery was several months ago...

...so you've become the next Vermeer since then or something? I shouldn't judge you on your artistic merits by what you have showing in your dA? I call it like I see it. Oh, wait.

Of course you don't have to be the best to judge something (it's Ebert's Law, actually!) but when people are still learning, use some tact. Help them instead of hindering them.

Of course I give serious crit, saying something fucking sucks doesn't help.

No, I just hardly ever update my dA, that's pretty much what it means.

I actually do try to help them, I just get angry when people don't care enough to improve (I don't express my anger when I crit like I'm doing in this thread), but I usually drop it when they say don't bother.
