I can totally relate. I'm a nurse's aide and not even a doctor but medical mistakes drive me crazy in the movies or TV. One time a crucial point was that they turned someone's oxygen off, and I was sitting there saying "Is he supposed to be dead? Because he probably wouldn't just die, just from that, it's not a ventilator..." when that really wasn't even the point.

Also when doctors and nurses (in U.S. movies and TV at least) give out medical information when they aren't supposed to I want to scream that they're going to lose their jobs.

Haha, being in healthcare has totally killed any ability for me to watch medical things. XD I end up getting angry and yelling at the screen!

LOL, yeah. Good gravy I am a little worried how I am going to look at every school based tv show ever once I become a TEFL teacher. I have a feeling that when my sister ropes me into watching Glee, I'm going to end up twitching even MORE. (Fun show, but the character whiplash is a pet peeve of mine.)

Sometimes, I think the quote 'ignorance is bliss' was meant for media.

Yeah, I actually find the opposite. "Summer Heights High" was unwatchable for me because it was too well observed, and it made me sad.

I would always ask my dad if scenes in M*A*S*H were accurate.
And having spent time in the hospital this summer after two major surgeries, i now get annoyed when they Do It Wrong vis a vis ivs, oxygen, catheters and pain meds.

yeah, that kind of stuff bothers me a bit too. don't shows ever hire people to like...fact check this shit? I mean, if I know it's wrong (and I've never even taken a first aid course) then surely someone who works on the show should realize it
