At work my boss has the radio on all the time, and this bloody song comes on at least twice a day. My ears, my poor ears.

Yeah, at my job it's on constant loop. And I don't even LIKE this song! The lyrics are great at some points, but the chorus has some cringe worthy moments. "Sometimes it hurts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead'? Really? However lines like 'born and raised in a summer haze, bound by the surprise of our glory days' are a nice play. Even though the assumption that his glory days were the same as hers annoyed me.

And really, I think her voice is pretty awesome. It has a cool smokey quality that I like. But I do not think it was used well in Someone Like You at points. 'Rolling In The Deep' however, is all around 100x more kick ass.

But I can see how people in the wake of a bad break up where they didn't want to end it could identify with this song. Adele does do a great job in pouring emotion into her voice.

Ah, gosh darnit. Thanks for the correction, I hate when I make mistakes like that.

It's one of those 'In my head that is what it was, I just typed it out wrong' things. It's more the "hurts instead' part that I find, well, not bad, just not a particularly profound statement for a repeated line throughout the piece that is central to the song. (And when I hear it at least 3 times a day on the radio that plays it, that repeated line drives me CRAZY.)
