OMG SO MUCH TRUTH. I mean, obviously there are people with the natural inclination and interest for it, but even that's just a starter block that probably gets honed and honed over the years.
I had an ex-friend outright accuse me once of not knowing how hard it was for him to talk to new people since the whole social thing just came so easy to me, and I pretty much exploded. My ability to introduce myself to new people and give decent presentations? Over 10 fucking years of dedicated effort. And even now there's still situations where I clam up and everything goes POOF from my brain.
